Beat the Bugs uses rhyming words and playful pictures to help children learn about their amazing bodies and how their vaccines protect them and beat the bugs.
A survey among parents found that Beat the Bugs reduced their child’s fear of immunisation - about 70% of children who read the book reported not being so scared about vaccines.

Hi loved your book. I have a special needs child. He connected straight away with characters in the book. use catchy rhymes and needle character made it easier for him to comprehend germ concept and importance of vaccinations and boosters. bravo. thanks for creating a wonderful learning tool.
My son enjoys reading Beat the bugs. We read it to him and sibling before injection time. His favourite part is how the antibodies remember the bad bugs. I have see him role playing with stuffed animals, giving them injections and telling them 'this will hurt a little bit but it will stop you from getting sick'!
"It's great that something is being done that will educate both parents and children about immunisation and this book is a definite winner on that score. The pictures are well done and allow us to create our own story about beating the bugs and keeping us well. It has been timely as my son having seen his sister get her vaccinations, was worried she was getting 'a hole in her arm'. We were able to discuss how it keeps her healthy, using the book as stimulus."
I just want to say that I love the story and moral behind it. I think it important to educate children about why they need to have needles from a young age. I wanted to say thank you for providing me with such a great story book to help me with a smooth transition to needle time."
